The Line of Power Collection

The Line of Power Collection is a celebration of strength, perseverance and movement – a visual tribute to women in sport. Artist Kelly Anna distils each discipline to its most essential gesture, letting the motion itself take centre stage. Across seven works, the female form is articulated in sweeping black ink lines that hold both tension and release. Every stroke feels committed and decisive, carrying the rhythm of a body in action.

Volleyball becomes a curve of the arm and a twist of the torso. Basketball stretches into a leap towards the net. Boxing unfolds in the arc of a punch. Gymnastics, discus, football and weightlifting each emerge as singular moments of power; distilled yet dynamic. In each, the figure holds both force and fluidity, stripped of detail yet full of energy and character.

Working with Indian ink and pastels, Kelly Anna embraces the immediacy of mark-making. The brushstrokes are made without hesitation, echoing the discipline and focus found in sport itself. Imperfections remain as part of the composition, a reminder of the human presence behind each movement.

This body of work also draws on her deep connection to the visual culture of sport: bold graphics, saturated colours and a sense of spectacle captured in vintage posters and Olympic memorabilia. That influence pulses through each piece, not in literal reference, but in the confident balance of form and colour.

The Line of Power Collection is more than a series of portraits in motion. It is a study of commitment – of how a single movement, when distilled to its core, can hold both physical strength and artistic expression. In these works, the athlete’s movement and the artist’s hand meet in the same space, each gesture left to stand as a record of energy and intent.
