Lisa Lindh

Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, Lisa Lindh works across painting alongside her role as a graphic designer and art director. After several years living and working in San Francisco, an experience she describes as having “a strong impact on me creatively,” her practice has continued to evolve between disciplines, with painting remaining a constant presence throughout.

Her work is shaped by an ongoing interest in form, balance and visual clarity. Drawing on both her artistic background and experience in graphic design, she approaches each piece with a clear sense of composition, allowing elements to settle into place while maintaining a sense of openness. As she notes, “for me, the work doesn’t need to carry a fixed meaning. It can simply exist as a visual moment.”

Form, Rhythm and Colour

Working primarily with oil pastels, Lisa moves between materials depending on what each piece calls for, guided by what she describes as curiosity and exploration. Her process often begins with a feeling or visual impression, which she refines before working quickly and intuitively, producing a large volume of work before selecting the pieces that feel resolved.

Subtle references to nature and floral forms appear throughout her compositions, alongside an ongoing interest in contrast – soft and bold, organic and geometric. “Colour is at the core of my work,” she explains, describing an approach where small shifts can alter the mood of an entire piece. Rather than following fixed rules, colour is used to create both tension and harmony, allowing each work to hold its own internal rhythm.
