Anastasia Krasilnikova

Born in Ukraine and raised by architects, Anastasia Krasilnikova has been encircled by a sense for aesthetics. However, she did not pursue a career in architecture nor in the arts until recently when she picked up drawing. Using simple materials such as a ballpoint pen, ink and newspaper, Anastasia Krasilnikova works in steady flow with no faltering.

“I give it one chance and never edit my drawings, instead I make a lot of sketches, not questioning the process. Then I review all of them very carefully and select the ones that turned out great.”

Anastasia Krasilnikova describes her artwork as simple, spontaneous and delicate, and she mostly takes inspiration from everyday life.

“I cannot perceive drawing as meditative or in any way relaxing. Rather it is an everyday challenge.”
