Anne Schäfer is the founder and designer behind ÄSTHET, a design studio founded in 2020 based in Hannover, Germany.

She started creating art at a young age. Her parents, who are both architects, took her and her brother to museums and art exhibitions since they were young. So art has always been consistent and naturally part of her life.

"The German words Ästhet describes a Person who has a strong sense of beauty, cultivated cultivation, for artistic things. And that's the perfect word for describing my work and my striving to create graphical, minimalistic, balanced and abstract artworks."

Anne has studied visual communication and through her years of studying she experimented with different art forms, such as photography, etching, screen printing, a short clay adventure, and of course a lot of drawing – analogue and digital. She also studied textile design in the Swedish school of textiles in Boras for a semester abroad.

"I get inspired by other artists and visiting exhibitions. But my main source of inspiration is nature. My calm and happy place to create at home is my allotment, a Swedish looking garden house, a green place in the middle of the city where I get inspired by the beautiful details that nature offers me."

When asked to describe her artwork Anne replies: aesthetic, minimalistic, abstract.
