The Paris Metro Collection
The Paris Metro Collection is inspired by the time the artist, Swedish Sofia Lind, lived and studied in the city of Paris. However, not knowing the language the young artist found herself feeling a bit lonely.
Riding the metro like any other local Parisienne became a means of escape. With this collection, she has gradually transformed the stations’ colours and atmospheres into portrait paintings.
“My piece Meet Me At Jaurès is inspired by the light and slightly foggy windows and huge glass sections in the station of Jaurès in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. The bright atmosphere on the metro platform gave me the airy and calm colour palette.”
