Artwork no. 7
Art print by Caroline Sillesen. From the series ‘In between Spaces’ printed on 190 uncoated paper.
The series emanates from a fascination of the gap, the space in between spaces. The urban space, the space between two buildings, the streets and the way they wind. Log book studies of the labyrinthic street structure of Venice has acted as a catalyst and the main theme for the creation of the works. The experience through the city’s tortuous street web, a reconstructed plan, the atmosphere from a place.
The relation between massive and nothingness. Positive and negative. The atmosphere that twines among and around the solid walls of the city and creates its own space. The poetical ambience finds its way In Between Spaces.
