At home in Østerbro, Copenhagen, Tikkie Elsøe lives with her family in an early-1900s townhouse in what is known as Komponistkvarteret. An interior stylist and content creator with a background in e-commerce, she balances creative direction with a sharp sense of how spaces are used day to day. The ground floor of their home has been opened so the kitchen, dining, and living room read as one generous space where most of their daily life unfolds, while the house’s original character remains part of the backdrop.

Outside, yellow brick façades and slate roofs define the neighbourhood’s historic character. Inside, the stairwell acts as the home’s spine, with Tikkie turning the walls and landings into a living gallery of framed drawings, small photographs, postcards and keepsakes, so the things that matter most are met in passing, every day.

Her approach to interior styling is led by atmosphere. Warm, harmonious colour, fine-patterned textiles and a preference for natural materials like wood and marble set the tone. A note of the unexpected keeps it from feeling too serious: English porcelain dogs, Swedish Dalarna horses, a Snoopy money box; a candy-striped textile or a bright red chair to lift the mood. The same instincts guide her professional work – clarity, texture and considered detail.

Tikkie’s Curated by selection of art follows the same logic. She chooses art that adds life without overwhelming the room, pairing calmer, more minimal prints with playful works and photographs, often finished with coloured passepartouts that pick up tones already present in the house. A favourite is Earthly Delights 02 by Another Art Project – simple yet striking, framed with a pink passepartout that lifts the palette and neatly sums up her aesthetic: warmth, clarity and character in balance.
