Anastasia Krasilnikova
Raised in Ukraine by architects, Anastasia Krasilnikova grew up surrounded by a sense for aesthetics, though she only recently took up drawing. She works with simple materials such as a ballpoint pen, ink and newspaper, moving in a steady flow without editing. Rather than reworking a piece, she makes many sketches and later selects the ones that succeeded. Drawn largely from everyday life, her work is simple, spontaneous and delicate, and she sees it as an everyday challenge rather than something meditative.
