Handcrafted in Aarhus, Denmark, by Katrine and Jacob Laoru, the Euterpe Vase Relief draws inspiration from the Nine Greek Muses. In ancient Greece, both the vessel and the Muse were seen as bearers of life, inspiration and creative force. The vase has long been a symbol of womanhood, while the Muses, in Greek mythology, are divine daughters who embody inspiration and serve as the source of art, knowledge and creative expression.

Euterpe – Muse of Music
Euterpe is the Muse of music, traditionally associated with lyrical poetry, harmony and balance. In this ceramic relief, the idea of the Muse and the form of the vase come together – one giving shape to artistic thought, the other to its physical expression. Each piece is crafted by hand in glazed stoneware in nuanced tones of antique white and designed to be wall-mounted.

Glazed stoneware ceramic

Production & Sustainability

Each art print is made to order, helping to reduce paper waste. Produced as museum-grade giclée prints on 245 g FSC™-certified archival-quality art paper from responsibly sourced materials, each print features a matte, natural finish and a lightly textured surface, designed to preserve colour depth and fine detail over time.

Giclée is a printing technique used to attain intense, saturated colours as well as a greater variety of depth and nuance. Combined with the premium art paper, it guarantees the archival conservation of colours for the highest possible age resistance.

Care & Maintenance

To preserve the quality and appearance of your art print, avoid direct sunlight, excessive humidity, and contact with moisture. We recommend framing the print behind glass or acrylic for optimal protection. Handle with clean, dry hands and avoid touching the printed surface directly. When properly cared for, archival-quality prints are designed to maintain their colour and character for years to come.

About the Artist

Laoru Laoru

Laoru Laoru

Laoru Laoru is the practice of Aarhus-based duo Jacob and Katrine Laoru, who handcraft figurative ceramic sculptures reinterpreting classical forms for the contemporary home. Centred on the human figure and drawing on ancient Greek and Roman traditions, their work pairs Jacob's sixteen-plus years in sculpture with Katrine's background in interiors. They work primarily in stoneware, a durable material recalling marble, with white glaze central to their language alongside colour experiments echoing the forgotten polychromy of classical statuary.
