Handcrafted in the Netherlands through a collaboration between Edith Beurskens and Royal Goedewaagen, Happy Ceramics celebrates the simple power of a smile. Defined by its playful expression and soft, rounded form, the piece brings warmth, optimism, and a sense of lightness into any space.
Balancing contemporary design with centuries-old ceramic craftsmanship, the object is created to be both meaningful and joyful. Whether displayed in a nursery, given to mark a special occasion, or chosen simply as a gesture of affection, Happy Smiley carries a universal sense of positivity that transcends age and setting.
Each piece is designed by Edith Beurskens and carefully handmade by Royal Goedewaagen, the oldest ceramic factory in the Netherlands. Founded in 1610, the historic workshop continues to produce ceramics entirely in-house, combining traditional expertise with modern design sensibilities. The result is an object that feels both timeless and contemporary—playful in character yet crafted to last for generations.
More than a decorative object, Happy Smiley serves as a small reminder of joy in everyday life. Its friendly expression and sculptural presence invite moments of connection, making it a thoughtful gift or a cheerful companion within the home.

Production & Sustainability

Each art print is made to order, helping to reduce paper waste. Produced as museum-grade giclée prints on 245 g FSC™-certified archival-quality art paper from responsibly sourced materials, each print features a matte, natural finish and a lightly textured surface, designed to preserve colour depth and fine detail over time.

Giclée is a printing technique used to attain intense, saturated colours as well as a greater variety of depth and nuance. Combined with the premium art paper, it guarantees the archival conservation of colours for the highest possible age resistance.

Care & Maintenance

To preserve the quality and appearance of your art print, avoid direct sunlight, excessive humidity, and contact with moisture. We recommend framing the print behind glass or acrylic for optimal protection. Handle with clean, dry hands and avoid touching the printed surface directly. When properly cared for, archival-quality prints are designed to maintain their colour and character for years to come.
